SWIMMER(S) OF THE MEET ARE CHOSEN BY THE COACHES AND GIVEN THE HONOR FOR VARIOUS REASONS. REALLY FINE PERFORMANCE, A KIND GESTURE, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, EXTRA EFFORT, ETC. ARE SOME OF THE REASONS. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
SOUTH COUNTY MEET 1/14/2012
Selecting the Swimmer of the Meet was not easy this time. We
had a lot of fine swims. After
considerable discussion we have selected Maeve Bedenkop, Samantha Hurwitz and Stephen Yezukevicz. Maeve dropped 13.29 sec from her 100 free
(1:46.49), 4.58 sec from her 50 back (51.61) and .72 sec from her 50 free
(44.89). Samantha also had 3 personal bests dropping 5.47 sec from her 50 back
(58.28), 1.34 sec from her 50 breaststroke (1:15.06) and .56 from her 50 free
(50.57). Stephen had a great meet
dropping 41.92 sec from his 500 free (6:45.40), 12.19 sec from his 200 IM
(2:47.96) and 1.22 sec from his 50 free (29.41). Nice job for a great day!
NEW BEDFORD MEET 12/10/2011
We have 2 Swimmer of the Meet selections, Molly Autery and Meredith Sullivan. Molly dropped 13.14 seconds from her 50
breaststroke (48.98), 4.36 sec from her 100 free (1:22.79) and 1.58 sec from
her 50 fly (43.68). Meredith, who
is new to our program this year, dropped 3.43 sec from her 100 back (1:18.65)
and 2.41 sec from her 100 free (1:09.03). Congratulations!
NEWPORT MEET 11/19/2011
Swimmers of the meet are Ted Ells, Dan Fortier and Annie Harris. All 3
people are hard working and had an outstanding meet. Ted swam personal bests in
the 100 IM (1:35.48), dropping 4.68 seconds, 50 fly (49.42) dropping 1.94 seconds
and the 100 free (1:21.06) dropping .44 sec. Dan took 2.31 seconds from his 50
backstroke (31.79) and 5.74 sec from his 200 free (2:14.58). Annie had all
personal bests, dropping 1.32 sec from her 50 back (32.73), 6.99 sec from her
200 IM (2:31.80), and .24 from her 100 back (1:09.66). Congratulations to each
of you.
SMITHFIELD MEET 11/12/2011
There will be 2 Swimmers of the meet for outstanding personal performance. Kit Kat Goodearl and Hannah Lancaster. Kit Kat had a wonderful meet dropping 1.46 sec from her 50 free (39.82) and 5.37 sec from her 50 back (47.22). Hannah had all personal bests dropping2.52 from the 50 fly (44.38), 4.8 from her 100 free (1:14.96) and .39 from her 50 breaststroke (46.93).
FREESTYLE FRENZY 11/05-11/06/2011
Our 3 swimmers of the meet are Kerry Bresnahan, Nika Dadoly and Luca Walko. Great effort.
Kerry Bresnahan (12) also swam all personal bests: .24 from her 50 (30.38), 1.69 from her 100 (1:06.61), 16.83 from her 200 (2:27.18) and 60.91 sec fro her 500 (6:39.59).
Nika Dadoly (12) matched her sister with personal bests dropping 2.28 from her 50 (30.90), 1.63 from her 100 (1:10.34), 16.81 from her 200 (2:32.03) and 24.22 from her 500 (6:52.97).
Luca Walko (10) had all personal bests dropping 1.1 sec from his 50 (32.59), 8.05 from his 75 (53.98), 5.67 from his 100 (1:14.49) and 9.23 from his 200 (2:48.29)
KENT COUNTY 10/29/2011
There were so many good swims it was a challenge to pick Swimmers of the Meet. By consensus, however we will select Chris Richards, Alex Damiecki and Nicole Dardia. Not
only was Chris part of the
record setting relay but he dropped 2.97 sec from his 100 fly to a 1:01.34 (an
exciting race) and 10.42 sec from his 500 Free to a 5:43.18. Alex, part of the same relay, also took 19.62 sec from
his 200 free to a 2:21.00 and 2.28 sec from is 100 breaststroke to a 1:15.72. Nicole took 10.02 sec from her 200 free (2:44.83) and .87
sec from her 50 back (39.32)
